Purple Heart Returned by Veteran

Barry Hutchinson is a Vietnam veteran who served over 50 years ago. During his most recent move a precious box fell out of his truck. Hutchinson was quick to discover that both his prized Purple Heart and dog tags were missing.

Jason Murphy, who served in Afghanistan. Iraq, and even Pakistan, was the first individual to spot the box laying on the side of the road.

Murphy spent over a month trying to track down the Purple Heart's rightful owner without any success. He finally found the help he needed with the Purple Hearts Reunited organization.

The organization helped Hutchinson and Murphy finally connect.

Hutchinson was amazed by the Purple Heart's return.

"The Lord had his hand in it. Everything just sort of came together, and I'm really pleased."
