Navy Veteran Joseph Calderazzo and his passenger were out riding his motorcycle on a leisurely trip, Memorial Day weekend when 31-year old Robert Paul Vance of Land O'Lakes, Fl, who had been driving recklessly and erratically pulled up to the stop light next to Calderazzo. The two began a verbal argument which quickly turned out of control.
Vance, caught on video from a witness in a car behind him, suddenly veered his car directly at the couple on the bike. Watch as he unbelievably tries to run them over. Calderazzo and his passenger were tossed off the bike as the video shows the silver sedan roll over the bike and curb.
Calderazzo suffered a broken leg and bruising and believes himself to be lucky that he was not injured further. Robert Vance, a habitual traffic offender with a long record of criminal offenses. Vance, was arrested minutes later and charged with a litany of offenses including: Driving without a license, hit-and-run and aggravated battery.
Witnesses to the scene said they could not believe their eyes. An apparent case of road rage seems to be what pushed Vance over the limit. After the incident, Vance drove away but several witnesses followed him. He is also accused of sideswiping one of the witnesses who tailed him in pursuit of the road-raged offender.
