The Concert for Valor, held at the National Mall in Washington D.C., is a free Veterans Day concert honoring of American veterans and their families. The event features Metallica, Zac Brown Band, Carrie Underwood, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Rhianna, Foo Fighters and other musical acts.
Former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Michael Mullen and former Defense Secretary Robert Gates and are advisors, overseeing veterans outreach and which veterans groups will benefit from the Concert of Valor proceeds.
There will also be appearances from co-producer Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg, Jamie Foxx, and John Oliver. HBO will televise the event and will open up their signal to all cable subscribers nationwide during the live telecast.
Starbucks is also sponsoring the Concert for Valor. Last year, Starbucks showed their support for our military veterans and military families with a commitment to hire at least 10,000 veterans and the spouses of active-duty military personnel over the next 5 years
The Concert of Valor begins at 7 p.m. on Veterans Day on the Mall grounds between the Capitol and the Washington Monument. There will be dedicated seating for military families, with tickets being distributed through various veterans assistance organizations.
