There's no shortage of Veterans Day deals and events for active duty military and veterans across the country Nov. 11. In fact, many businesses offer discounts and freebies both before and after Veterans Day.

Veterans Day Deals at Restaurants

The military blog BuiltUSA shared a post about restaurant discounts and free meals for military servicemembers on Veterans Day. One of these restaurants - Golden Corral - has served over 4.1 million free ‘thank you’ meals to military women and men over the past 13 years. Their free meal promotion will be on November 17.

Here's a few of the other restaurants mentioned by BuiltUSA - Applebee’s, Denny’s, Hooters, LongHorn Steakhouse, StarBucks, Outback Steakhouse, Max & Erma’s, Krispy Kreme.

2014 Veterans Day Travel, Recreation and Retail Deals and Discounts

There are a lot of promotions related to travel, recreation and retail shopping. These are great opportunities to do something fun with the family while saving some money.

Busch Gardens is giving veterans and active duty military 50% off single-day admission tickets through November 11.

The Harley-Davidson Museum will give military members and military families free admission to military on November 8, 9, and 11.

National Parks -- On November 11, veterans can enjoy over 100 National Parks for free.

Home Depot and Lowes - Veterans receive a 10% discount on Veterans Day.

Firestone Complete Auto Care - Veterans and active duty personnel receive an additional 10% off the lowest advertised price of any automotive service between November 9 and 16.

These are just the tip of the iceberg for 2014 Veterans Day deals on travel, recreation and retail stores.
