Last night's Super Bowl halftime performer Katy Perry and singer Idina Menzel, who sang the national anthem, are also supporters of the USO. This is something that many of the American public, who were watching last night's Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots probably did not know.
U.S. military troops watching the Super Bowl at USO centers overseas, however, most likely know this fact about Super Bowl performers Katy Perry's and Idina Menzel. In fact, some of these men and women have probably experienced their generosity and support firsthand.
The singer performed a number of songs at the 2010 “VH1 Divas Salute the Troops” which was a USO event at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego. Below is a video shot from this event for the troops.
This past Christmas, the Broadway performer participated in a USO satellite media tour promoting USO Wishbook. She also took time to meet with three military families and, along with the USO, helped those families kick off their holiday season in style.
