Please share and help spread the word. Maryland State Police need your help as they are searching for a driver who struck and killed a Marine who had stopped to help a disabled vehicle during a storm Tuesday night. Police say they’re looking for a black tractor-trailer with heavy damage on the right front, according to local station WUSA9.

Two witnesses saw the hit-and-run driver stop briefly about 100 feet up the road. However, the witnesses were so busy trying to save the injured Marine, Cpl. William Ferrell, they were unable to provide a great description of the vehicle. Witness think the car involved was a heavy duty, dark colored, dual-axle pickup with a car carrier and a couple of vehicles in it hitched to the bed of the truck.

The incident took place around 10:50 p.m. on northbound Route 15 near Auburn Road in Thurmont, Maryland.

If anyone who sees this happens to have information on this hit-and-run, please contact the Maryland State Police at 301-600-4151.
