Video: Santa and Soldier Surprise Daughter with Christmas Homecoming
December 11, 2015
Santa fulfilled one little girl's Christmas wish early this year. At the top of six-year-old Jordynn Baskerville's Christmas list, she wanted her daddy, a Tennessee soldier deployed in Afghanistan, to return home to her military family.
"I want my daddy to come home," she told Santa quietly during her visit Tuesday in a Clarksville mall with her mom and her 1-year-old sister.
What she didn't know, while sitting on Santa's lap in a local mall, was that her top wish on her Christmas list was hiding just a few feet away behind a pile of gift-wrapped boxes.
Santa told her to close her eyes. She opened them seconds later to find her father in front of her.
"Daddy!" she yelled before running into the arms of Sgt. Trent Baskerville, who had just returned that morning from a 10-month deployment in Afghanistan.
Other mall visitors broke into applause as the two embraced.
