Surveillance video caught a brutal beating of an Iraq war veteran at a Mobil gas station in Washington Park, IL on October, 14, 2015. Now, almost 4 months later, all three suspects in the violent beating of that Iraq War veteran are in custody.
Deion Sanders, Lamarcus Evans and Earl Agnew are in custody and have been charged with aggravated battery and mob action.
According to police, all three of the suspects beat the man who served in Iraq twice. Then, after their brutal beating that left him bleeding and fighting for his life, they poured alcohol on his face and ran him over with their car as they fled the scene.
The Iraq war veteran suffered severe injuries to his shoulders, head and ribs but survived the attack.
“It’s horrible to think that you could go fight for your country, raise your right hand and take the oath and say that you will fight for your country, and you come home and after fighting the enemies, come home to a gas station and get beat up. It’s just tragic,” Washington Park Police Chief, Tony Tomlinson said.
Evans and Agnew were arrested and charged in connection with the beating just days after the incident, but Sanders was on the run until recently.
