Genleah Swain sang her heart out to the surprise of tourists taking in the sights of the Lincoln Memorial. Ms. Swain is seen talking to a gentleman in the video, who encourages her to sing. As she slowly begins to belt out the Star Spangled Banner as more and more onlookers encircle her, absolutely enthralled.
The video had been posted to the singer's youtube account but it wasn't until Nay Nichelle, shared it on her facebook did the sharing begin and the viral legacy of the performance solidify. In 48 hours of exposure on Nichelle's Facebook the video had been watched over 5 million times and shared 137,000 times.

By the end of the video the crowd erupts in applause and strangers with wet eyes embrace the singer in heartfelt gratitude. 'The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave'.
The individual who had originally shared the video on various social media channels, wrote on her Facebook,
“Omg! Look at how everyone stopped what they were doing to listen to this young lady sing the National Anthem at the Lincoln Memorial! AMAZING!” Nichelle wrote.
Another Facebook user that came across the video and loved it said,
