A group of Democratic lawmakers exploded on the House floor with intense criticism of Republican leaders, specifically House Speaker Paul Ryan, in regards to the nation's gun laws.
Many staged their protest to this matter by leaving the House chamber during a crucial moment of silence honoring the victims of the Orlando shooting.
One of the many that left in protest was Connecticut Representative Jim Himes.
Himes claims that he is finished with the moments held on the House floor for those lost after mass shootings as he sees them as rather a metaphor for congressional inaction on guns.
During the protest some Democrats even yelled out
"Where's the bill?"
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi declared,
"The moment of silence is an act of respect, and we supported that, but it is not a license to do nothing".
