ScootinAmerica Hero Hit By Car On Nationwide Journey For Vets

ScootinAmerica is tour of all 696 Harley Davidson dealerships in America with the proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project.  And the tourists are a little chihuahua named Scooter and his partner in transit and life, Adam Sandoval.  It is set to be a world record breaking journey spanning over 100,000 miles and all 48 contiguous states.  Community members are encouraged to participate in the ride donating $5 at every dealership.

All was going as planned, that is, until July 2nd when Adam and Scooter were riding through Pittsburgh, PA and a woman came into his lane of traffic and hit him.  Adam was flown to the hospital and prepped for surgery for the following day.  He has since come through surgery well and has been reunited with little Scooter.  He began physical therapy yesterday and is starting his road to recovery.  “We are not quitters.  We are AMERICANS.”  Adam declares.

Adam started the project with the intention of raising awareness of our military veterans and their needs that have not been met.  The Wounded Warrior Project and other non-profits which benefit veterans are working tirelessly everyday to achieve those aims.  Any and all media that brings attention to the paramount importance of aiding our disabled U.S. Military Personnel helps to involve the community at large.

With over 36 personal benefactors and several corporate sponsors Adam has raised the funds to not only donate to the cause but also finance his mission.  And although, he is still in the hospital he plans on finishing the route and completing the challenge.  All interested parties who wish to support ScootinAmerica please visit his page at. With 44 states behind him and only 4 left to go, Adam and Scooter have completed a good deal of the trek.  We wish Adam a quick recovery and tip our hats to his altruistic effort.

I was shocked when I saw that you had been hit, I am so glad you and Scooter will be ok. I ride as often as I can and there is always some idiot trying to take me down. It is bound to happen some day, the more we ride the greater the chance of injury. I will ride till I die, there is nothing like it. I wish I had started riding earlier in life! Get well and ride on:)
